Hi everyone.  65 degrees & sunny today in Seattle.

Its been a great off-season thus far. I had surgery 1/18/07 in Alabama on my Left (non-throwing) shoulder and re-hab has been going well. I had no idea how much work was required coming back from a surgery like this and I now have much more respect for my teammates who have made it back from far more serious injuries. You have to wake up each day ready to work your hardest with a positive attitude.

Unlike my hectic post-Super Bowl travel schedule last year, I have been traveling only when absolutely necessary to see doctors, trainers, and Mickey Mouse (my kids are now 5, 4, and 1).  I'm in Seattle 95% of the time working with Sam Ramsden, Dr. Ed Khalfayan, and Dr. Neno Pribic. I've also spent time in Arizona working with one of the best "throwing" re-hab guys of all time in Brett Fischer. Brett is best known for his work with baseball players and for inventing the Ab Dolly. While in Canada I've seen Dr. Gerry Ramogida (Vancouver) and Dr. Larry Michelli (Toronto).

Canada eh? Yes, Campbell's Chunky Soup shot this year's Mama's Boys commercials primarily in Toronto. This year's group includes Todd Heap, Demarcus Ware, Larry Johnson, Jonathon Vilma, Devin Hester, Maurice Jones-Drew, and LaDainian Tomlinson. Yes, everyone's REAL mother was there too. Toronto was fun to say the least, great group of guys and I got to hang out with my good friend Kip Shaw a T-dot native who I know from Vero Beach florida (plus he dates my cousin).

I'm not going to go into too much detail about the last month b/c ESPN the Magazine sent me a camera and asked me to take pictures of what I've been doing during that time. Expect "Jock's Eye View" to be in their next issue. I've seen my pictures and they are really good... might need to explain some of them however.

The NFL Draft was followed by our first mini-camp. This was a great chance to see our new draft picks, our new free agents, and our injured QB's (ha, ha). I'm really encouraged by all three groups.

In all seriousness, our defense had a great camp. They already are playing at a high level... how hard can it be to play defense though.  The playbook says, "Man or Zone".  Obviously all the smart guys play offense... so we should all know the playbook by our June camp beginning June 4. (i'm kidding about our defense but it is fun to compete and occasionally make fun of
them... we are all expecting a great year.)

Before I sign off... here's what's up for this weekend.

Friday was spent in Bothell, WA welcoming back Blake Lewis of American Idol fame. Teammate Craig Terrill and I presented (along with Sea Gal Tessa) Blake with a personalized Seahawks jersey (#12) before his mini-concert in front of the home crowd. He performed with his former band Arisawkadoria. Props to the City of Bothell and the Bothell Police Department for putting a great event together in 2 days time. I think the segments from this will air on Fox May 15 & 16.

Saturday night Sarah & I (and our friends) will be attending the 41st annual Bellevue Boys & Girls Club 'An Affair to Remember' charity auction. (Boys & Girls Club was one of the beneficiaries of last year's QB/WR Camp at Qwest Field.) The event is Black Tie so I'm hoping to be the 3rd best dressed guy at the event. (Nate Burleson and my brother Nathanael will be in attendance
so the best I can do is 3rd) At the very least I have to beat Ashworth, Terrill, Strong, Krein, and Drana!

Sunday is Mother's Day. My kids have been looking forward to this day for awhile b/c they've made something very nice for Sarah. Before Church my wife is going to run in the Kirkland 5K/Half Marathon (still not sure which event she's registered for). My kids will love that as well. Hopefully the gift for my mom gets to her in time b/c she's flying to LA on Monday to do a roundtable discussion with other NFL moms on the NFL Network.  This spells trouble b/c we all know moms love to embarrass their sons. Especially mine!

Happy Mother's Day mom. I love you.
