Thanks to all who have sent along notes of encouragement since I've been injured. It has been good to read all of your letters and notes while in the training room icing.
MRI results Monday confirmed that I have a grade II MCL sprain which should leave me out of the lineup for about a month. When I was hit in the knee I heard a loud 'pop' and immediately felt pain equally as disturbing. Team doctors and trainers have told me that I should feel lucky that my MRI results aren't worse. I do feel fortunate and as soon as the swelling goes down I will be working to come back as soon as possible.
So anyway... my spirits are good, my knee is on the mend and I believe our team will come together and play well this weekend against a hot Kansas City team.
I'll check back in later this week with another update. (most likely from the training room, with a big bag of ice on my knee)
See you then.
